:-: Bubbles Break: The California Cheese Trail & Oyster Bay :-:

It's time for another bubbles break!

We celebrated Mother's Day weekend early, and started with a Saturday filled with cheese and oysters. Yes and Yes. Sunday was another tea room - which I absolutely loved and can't wait to share with you - but that will be the subject of my next blog post.

If you live in northern California, the California Cheese Trail is a great option for a day trip. The Point Reyes area is so scenic and definitely worth the drive. There are lots of creameries to choose from, and some require reservations in advance, so I recommend mapping out your day before making the drive.

Our first stop was at Marin French Cheese. This place was so serene and peaceful. We tasted all of their cheeses before purchasing a bag of sliced baguettes, fig spread, goat brie, and salami. The combination was soooo good. And you can eat your food at one of their benches in front of a beautiful little lake.

Quick tip: Make sure you bring a cooler so you can stock up on cheese to take home with you! That was exactly the purpose of our second stop. We did a quick cheese tasting and bought some cheese and paté at Cowgirl Creamery and moved right along to our final stop of the day.

Our trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to The Marshall Store, which was the perfect end to the day. We've been to this restaurant plenty of times and their food is always delicious and fresh. In all honestly, if anyone ever asks me if I want raw oysters, my answer is always, "Yes, as long as they come with a glass of champagne." The raw oysters here never disappoint and the cooked ones are tasty, too. The champagne gets an A in my book, but it's a bit pricey, so you may want to bring your own bottle. There's no corkage fee, so might as well.

Could you live off of cheese? Maybe??

See you next teatime,
