:-: Teatime à la Trader Jacques :-:

One of my best friends recently moved to France and came back for a visit. Since we don't get to see each other too often, I wanted to do something special when we got together, but didn't have much time to plan. I went to Trader Joe's and was able to find everything I needed for teatime.

Assuming you have the basic essentials at home (i.e., butter, salt, pepper, etc. - and tea, of course), you can put together teatime for 4 people for around $30. Throw in a bottle of champagne (or sparkling wine) and the cost is approximately $40.

It only took about 15 minutes total to prep the food and set the table.

My friend said everything looked really cute and tasted good, too.

So, what was on the menu?

Bottom tier: egg salad sandwich triangles & chicken salad sandwich triangles

Middle tier: blueberry scones (with butter on the side)

Top tier: assorted macarons

On the plate: caprese salad

To drink: english breakfast tea (with cream and sugar on the side) & rosé  sparkling wine

:-: Teatime Tidbit :-:

If the grapes used to make the bubbly wine we all love  so much are grown in the Champagne region of France, then it's called champagne. If the grapes are grown in any other region of the world, it's sparkling wine.

Do you have any trips or tricks for last minute get togethers?

Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for stopping by.

See you next teatime,

C
